Road Trip with the Destination Mug Collection

Take a road trip across the country with the limited-edition Le Creuset Destination Mug collection. Each mug features an appliqué of cities and states from across the US along with iconic symbols from each locale, and is finished with a colorful glazed interior. Whether given as a gift or added to a collection, the mugs are a fun way to experience a country full of delicious possibilities.

Crafted from premium stoneware to keep contents warm or cold, our best-selling mugs are finished with our signature three rings and a vibrant glaze that is easy to clean, dishwasher-safe and resistant to chips, scratches and stains. The generous capacity is perfect for coffee, tea or even soup or dessert, and will transport you to your favorite places without leaving home.

We created the Destination Mug collection to celebrate the uniqueness of American cities and states across our country.

Now, the only question is where are we going? Join us for a tour of the Destination Mug collection from coast to coast, along with some fun facts and suggestions for what to drink in each city and state.

  • Maine – The first stop on our trip is the coast of Maine where lighthouses perch on the rugged gray cliffs. A piping mug of hot coffee will keep us warm if we decide to go fishing for the state’s world-renowned lobsters – in fact, Maine produces around 90% of the country’s lobster supply.
  • Boston – Also known for its seafood, a lobster roll is a must-have when we visit the city of Boston, although there is some debate about whether it should be served hot or cold. We’ll contemplate this important question over a cup of breakfast tea overlooking the harbor.
  • New York – Next we head to the Big Apple, aka the city that never sleeps, where a double cappuccino will keep us fueled for a busy day in New York City, especially if we decide to climb the 354 steps to the top of the iconic Statue of Liberty.
  • Philadelphia – From the Liberty Bell to the Benjamin Franklin bridge, Philadelphia is steeped in American history making it a can’t miss stop on our US road trip. And an Americano is the perfect thing to sip on a visit to Independence Hall.
  • Chicago – We’ll take in the beautiful city skyline while eating a slice of deep dish pizza in the Windy City. Afterwards, we’ll grab a specialty roast from one of the many artisan coffee roasters in town to enjoy on a long, scenic trip along Route 66 – the famous highway starts right in downtown Chicago.
  • Florida – But first we need to detour south to sip on coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice in the Sunshine State while watching graceful pink flamingoes graze along the coast. Fun fact: Florida is the world’s second largest producer of orange juice.
  • Texas – Next, we head out west to the Lone Star State where everything is bigger, including the longhorn cows, and grab a giant-sized iced coffee to keep us cool on the dusty trail. We might even pull on some cowboy boots to enjoy some live music and dancing along the way.
  • California – For our last stop on our trip, we’ll meander along the 3400 miles of Golden State coastline enjoying the blue skies, abundant sunshine and waves. A turmeric latte is a fitting sunset sipper to wrap up the day and this epic cross-country journey.
